Conditions and practical information
NOTICE TO COMPETITORS

Car Park
Competitors may use the main car park. The Scottish Golf Union and The Macdonald Cardrona Hotel cannot accept any responsibility for damage to cars.

Catering
Catering will be available in the Spike Bar from 6:15am and is at the competitor's own expense.

Clubhouse
Competitors are permitted the use of the changing facilities adjacent to the Spike Bar.

In the hotel, Spike Bar and on the course casual wear is acceptable for competitors but must be smart. THE WEARING OF JEANS, DENIM TROUSERS, SLEEVELESS OR COLLARLESS SHIRTS, SHELL SUITS AND TRAINING SHOES IS NOT PERMITTED.

Competitors shall not be allowed to purchase alcoholic drinks.

MOBILE PHONES MUST BE SWITCHED OFF ON THE COURSE.

Changing facilities and showers are available in the Gents Locker Rooms adjacent to the Spike Bar.

Caddie Cars and Yardage Books
Yardage books are available for purchase and caddie cars are available for hire.

Course and Play
Competitors must register at least 30 minutes prior to their morning starting times as shown on the official draw sheet. Each competitor will be issued with a copy of the local rules, pin positions and pace of play guidelines when registering at the Championship Mobile Office.

Competitors will play one round on Tuesday 24 July and one round on Wednesday 25 July.
The top 40 qualifiers and those tying on 40th place will play a further two rounds on Thursday 26 July. The draw for the Thursday will be made available as soon as possible after the close of play on Wednesday.
THE WEARING OF JEANS, DENIM TROUSERS, SHORTS, SLEEVELESS OR COLLARLESS SHIRTS, SHELL SUITS AND TRAINING SHOES IS NOT PERMITTED. Shorts are permitted if tailored.
Competitors must report to the Championship Mobile Office at least 15 minutes prior to their starting time. Starting times are shown in the official draw sheet.
Each competitor will be issued with a copy of the local rules, pin positions and pace of play guidelines when registering at the Championship Office. All club local rules should be ignored.
COMPETITORS MUST REPORT TO THE OFFICIAL STARTER AT THE FIRST TEE 5 MINUTES BEFORE THEY ARE DUE TO PLAY and are reminded that late arrival at the first tee will result in disqualification.
CADDIES ARE NOT PERMITTED AND COMPETITORS ARE REMINDED THAT THEY MUST NOT SEEK OR ACCEPT ADVICE FROM PARENTS, OTHER COMPETITORS OR ANY OTHER PERSON. NB. "Advice" is any counsel or suggestion that could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of a club or the method of making a stroke.

Etiquette
In the interests of all, players should play without delay, leave a bunker as you would expect to find them and replace divots.

Insurance
The entry fee includes cover in respect of competitors legal liability in the event of injury to another person or damage to a third party property. An excess of £15 will apply.

Practice
The Macdonald Cardrona Hotel & Golf Course has very kindly granted courtesy of the course for one practice round on Monday 23 July between 7.30 & 8.30am and 10.00am and 4.00pm. However, competitors unable to practice within the official period may arrange an alternative time by prior arrangement with the Club. Bookings for practice times must be made in advance by telephoning the Professional Shop on 01896 833701.

A practice area is available for use. Balls are available at the cost of £2 per basket. The practice ground will be limited to irons only. Additional practice rounds will be charged at £15 per round.

Competitors can play from the Championship Tees. Except in accordance with the Rules of Golf, a competitor in a practice round must not have more than one ball in play. Exception - if a player misses a green with his approach shot, he may play one additional shot.

Presentation
The Championship trophy and medals will be presented at close of play on Thursday 26 July at The Macdonald Cardrona Hotel and Golf Course. All medal winners are expected to be present.

Directions
The hotel is situated 20 miles south of Edinburgh and 3 miles south of Peebles. From the Edinburgh city bypass follow the A703 to Peebles before taking the A72 sign posted to Galashiels.
