Car Park
Competitors may use the main car park. An overflow facility is also available.
The Scottish Golf Union and The Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course cannot accept responsibility for any damage to cars.

Catering
Coffee and morning rolls will be available from 06:30 when the clubhouse opens. Bar snacks will be available all day. Any Competitors or their families wishing to dine in the clubhouse in the evening may do so by booking a table in advance with catering staff. All catering is at the competitor's expense.

Clubhouse
The clubhouse will be open 1 hour prior to the first tee time each day, 06:00 for first two days and 06:30 on final day. The use of the clubhouse and facilities will be open to all players, guests, media and visitors.

In all clubhouse areas and on the course casual wear is acceptable for competitors but must be smart. Shoes worn on the golf course may not be worn in the clubhouse. Golf shoes can be worn in all downstairs areas of the clubhouse.

THE WEARING OF JEANS, SLEEVELESS OR COLLARLESS SHIRTS AND TRAINING SHOES IS NOT PERMITTED.

MOBILE PHONES MUST BE SWITCHED OFF IN THE CLUBHOUSE AND ON THE COURSE.

Changing facilities are available in the gent’s locker room. No lockers are available for valuables.
Showers are available but players are required to bring their own towel.

Yardage Books and Caddie Cars
Trolleys are available for hire from the professional’s shop at £4, on a first come first serve basis. Yardage books are available for purchase at £5.

Caddies are NOT PERMITTED and competitors are reminded that they must not seek or accept advice from parents, other competitors or any other person. NB. "Advice" is any counsel or suggestion which could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of a club or the method of making a stroke.

When the game is over, results must be returned to the Championship Office without undue delay.

Registration & Play
The Championship shall be played over four rounds of 18 holes stroke play, each in accordance with the R&A Rules of Golf and the local rules of the Course as issued by the Championship Committee.

Monday 22 July - official practice day (0900-1130) & (1250-1530)
Tuesday 23 July - first round
Wednesday 24 July - second round
Thursday 25July - rounds three and four

Competitors must register at least 30 minutes prior to their morning starting times at the SGU Championship Office. Each competitor will be issued with a copy of the local rules, pin positions and pace of play guidelines.

COMPETITORS MUST REPORT TO THE OFFICIAL STARTER AT THE FIRST TEE 5 MINUTES BEFORE THEY ARE DUE TO PLAY. Competitors are reminded that late arrival at the first tee will result in disqualification as no provision has been made under Rule 6-3.

Etiquette
In the interests of all, each competitor should play without delay, leave a bunker as he would expect to find it, replace divots and repair pitch marks.

During practice players should have only one ball in play. Exception: in the event a player misses the green with his approach shot he may put another ball into play.

Practice
The official practice day is Monday 22 July. Players wishing to book a practice round must contact the professional on 01573 450333. Practice times will be issued on a first come first served basis.

Anyone who is unable to play on the official practice day may contact the club and at their discretion, book an alternative time.

Anyone wishing to book an additional practice round will be eligible for a green fee of £40 (Junior rate). This reduction will apply for competitors only.

There is a practice ground, a short walk from the clubhouse, where competitors may practice. There is also a practice short game area at the back of the practice ground and a practice putting green adjacent to the clubhouse.

The range will open at 6.30am with last balls at 3.00pm on the first 2 days. On the final day it is anticipated that the range will open from 7.00am and close at 3.00pm. Balls will be supplied for competitors.

Pace of Play
Players will be required to read the SGU pace of play guidelines prior to registering at the Championship Office. Full guidelines are also available on the SGU 2013 Rules hard card.

The SGU Pace of Play Policy will be implemented for the duration of the championship with roving referees on course to enforce any necessary actions.

Withdrawals
Withdrawals will not be accepted at any time unless confirmed by email, fax or letter. A competitor failing to notify SGUL by this method before 10:00 on Monday 22 July will be subject to an automatic ban of up to two years from all SGUL events. Only in exceptional circumstances and on formal appeal to the Championship Committee will the ban be lifted.

A player is not permitted to withdraw at any stage of the championship except for emergency reasons or medical circumstances explained to and deemed acceptable by the Championship Committee. A player failing to notify the Championship Committee in person of his withdrawal before departing the championship venue will be subject to an automatic ban of up to two years from all SGUL events. Only in exceptional circumstances and on formal appeal will the ban be lifted.

Presentation
There will be an official prize presentation at the conclusion of play on Thursday 25 July, all prize winners are expected to attend.

Responsibility
The Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course and the Scottish Golf Union cannot accept responsibility for the loss, theft or damage to players’ property during the event.
